
Jan-Paul (JP) was born on 24 September 1963 in The Hague and has lived with his partner Hilde in Belgium since 2009. After studying biophysics and computer science in Leiden, he has spent more than 10 years in the Dr. Neher R&D lab in the Netherlands. He worked on pattern recognition systems in which the lab was leading in the world. After several jobs in various hi-tech start-ups, he switched to the energy sector in 2003 where he held various (international) positions at the interface of technology, ICT and organization. The last four years until 2018 he worked on a digital transformation that has yielded several national awards. In 2017 he made the decision to dedicate his knowledge and experience to the wellbeing of our planet and its inhabitants, to make a more tangible contribution to sustainability.

After studying physics at the University of Groningen, he held a large number of positions in various companies and disciplines. Since 2001, he has carried out a number of interim assignments from his own company, ranging from HR management to hi-tech development assignments, reorganisations and digital transformations. Integrity combined with the human factor, a short-cycle improvement loop and tangible impact have been guiding aspects in all of his assignments. Out of commitment to the well-being of this world, he has joined Picaflores.org as a director to make tangible contributions to the sustainability of the world we live in.

Peter Rouffa was born in Wilrijk (Antwerp) in 1963 and lives in the Belgian Ardennes. After his training as an illustrator in various acadamies for fine arts, Lier, Merksem and Liège, he worked for 15 years as a freelancer for several publishers including the Standard publisher, the Zuid-Nederlandse uitgeverij and Dupuis. He then set up his own communication company (Kabloonak Communications) for graphic design and printing, web design and website development. Nature and man are ready for change and he could no longer continue to watch from the sideline. In the approach and projects of Picaflores.org he can fully give his knowledge, experience and heart.

Theo Fens is an experienced professional with a broad industrial background. His work experience spans more than 40 years in industry (process control, telecom, oil and gas engineering), consultancy (energy markets and IT), and research (physics and economics). In addition, Theo has been a senior research fellow at Delft University of Technology for more than 15 years and has been involved in the Energy Delta Institute since 2006 as core lecturer Energy Markets. Theo has a background in electrical engineering and physics, and has a PhD in experimental physics. Theo’s career started in the industry where he worked for several years at various engineering firms and industrial supply companies on the design and realization of systems. At KPN Research he spent 6 years researching telecommunications technology with the focus on operational applications. Theo then spent 15 years at Shell as a petrophysicist and researcher, and had been involved in the development of oil and gas fields. At Capgemini, Theo spent 6 years as principal consultant in the energy sector. After that, he worked as a consultant and board member of UCPartners for 9 years in the energy sector. Since 2014, he has been a member of the assessment committee for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in the field of energy matters. In addition, Theo is scientific advisor at Deloitte, as an advisor to Driven by Values (circular economy) and the Global Gas Networks Initiative (GGNI) that markets Dutch energy knowledge outside the Netherlands. As a consultant at Picaflores, Theo wants to use his knowledge and experience to further realize a sustainable society in which people can live in symbiosis with the nature given to us.
